As a member of the firm's mechanical patent practice, Mr. Everding assists clients in developing patent portfolio strategies, identifying patentable subject matter, and obtaining and enforcing patent protection. He has extensive experience in conducting patentability analyses and preparing and prosecuting domestic and foreign patent applications. Mr. Everding advises clients on clearance issues and prepares opinions on patent infringement and validity. He also helps clients identify infringements of their patents and enforces their patent protection through licensing or other negotiations in pre-litigation situations.
Mr. Everding has experience in technologies including vascular compression, pipeline rehabilitation, filtration, commercial food preparation, enteral feeding, vertebral implants and anchors, thermometry, and numerous other technologies.
Mr. Everding earned his Juris Doctor cum laude from The John Marshall Law School, where he earned a Certificate in Intellectual Law and was Managing Editor of The John Marshall Law Review. While in law school, he served as a legal extern for the Honorable E. Richard Webber of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. Mr. Everding earned his Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the University of Dayton, where he received an athletic scholarship for varsity golf.
Mr. Everding's professional affiliations include the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, the American Bar Association, the Intellectual Property Owner's Association, and the American Intellectual Property Law Association. He also volunteers for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Metro St. Louis as a member of the Kids and Clays Committee.
