O'Neill Discusses Social Media in Business Journal

Attorney William O'Neill discusses trademark and copyright infringement as it relates to social media in the article "Social Media's Terms Limit IP Liabilities," appearing in the October 16, 2009 issue of the St. Louis Business Journal. O'Neill explains that user agreements put in place by social media sites provide some protection for trademark and copyright owners. He also discusses a recent trademark infringement suit filed by St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony La Russa against Twitter because of a fake account set up in La Russa's name. La Russa dropped the lawsuit after Twitter, under the terms of the user agreement, cancelled the fake account.
