Federal District Court Affirms Decision for Premier Election Solutions
On March 18, 2009, Judge Mummert in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri issued an order affirming the jury's verdict in favor of Premier Election Solutions, Inc. that all of the asserted claims in Avante International's U.S. Pat. Nos. 6,892,944 and 7,077,313 are invalid. The patents covered certain optical ballot scan voting systems. Premier's systems thus do not infringe any of the claims and are clear for sale and use for the upcoming 2010 mid-term elections. The case is Avante International Technology Corporation v. Premier Election Solutions, Inc. et al. Senniger Powers' Robert Evans, Jennifer Hoekel, and Sara Gillette represented Premier Election Solutions.
