Senniger Powers' Partners Ed Hejlek and Kathleen Petrillo Named in St. Louis Business Journal's "Who's Who in Technology"
Managing Partner Ed Hejlek and Partner Kathleen Petrillo were among 35 persons, including 15 attorneys, who were featured in the special section "Who's Who in Technology" in the July 20 issue of the St. Louis Business Journal. Selectees were asked to describe their work and achievements in the technology field.
Mr. Hejlek ranks his biggest professional accomplishment as "patenting and licensing certain technology relating to Taxol, a chemotherapeutic drug". His work helped generate "hundreds of millions of dollars for the university licensee and enabled the production of commercial quantities of a then-scarce chemotherapeutic drug." His clients have included MEMC Electronic Materials Inc., Monsanto Co., Pfizer Corp., Sigma-Aldrich Co., Symyx Technologies, Theralogics Inc., and several universities. Ms. Petrillo was the first female attorney to join the firm, the firm's first woman partner, and the chief financial partner of the firm's first Executive Committee. She is gratified that these achievements have "encouraged other women to pursue a career in IP law".
