Senniger Powers Partner Speaks to Financial Week about Effects of KSR v. Teleflex on Acquired Intangible Assets

Mike Godar, partner at Senniger Powers, recently was quoted in the May 7, 2007, issue of Financial Week on the potential implications of the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in KSR v. Teleflex on acquired intangible assets.

In the article by Craig Schneider titled, "Supreme Court ruling prompts patent review," Mike spoke on the vulnerability of patents in certain industries, including Internet companies, banks and accounting firms, as they frequently file business method patents that simply are improvements of prior methods. Other types of patents, however, "might be more resistant to challenges in the wake of this decision if the invention creates an unexpected result than those patents with obvious tweaks to the technology."
