Sunrise Period (Phase I) for .eu Top Level Domain Name to End February 6, 2006
Phase I of the “sunrise period” for the first region-based top level domain, .eu, began on December 7, 2005 and will continue until February 6, 2006. During this period, owners of registered European trademarks may file applications for .eu domain names, corresponding to their registered European trademarks, before the .eu domain names become available to the general public. On February 7, 2006 the second phase of the sunrise period will begin, allowing owners of other prior rights (such as trade names) to file applications for domain names. On April 7, 2006 the .eu domain will become available to the general public.
