Professional Summary

Mr. Evans has been with Senniger Powers since 1990. He has extensive experience litigating complex intellectual property disputes in the federal courts - during discovery, through trial and on appeal. He has traveled to nearly every major business center in the United States, including 28 states and the District of Columbia, in the course of taking depositions, arguing motions, obtaining temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunctions, and trying cases.

Mr. Evans' patent and trade secret lawsuits have concerned electronic circuits and electrical controls, computer systems and software, organic and inorganic chemistry, semiconductors, life sciences reagents and processes, medical and dental products, and manufactured and industrial products. His trademark and unfair competition lawsuits have included marks and competition in manufacturing, electronics, chemical and life sciences industries, power industry, financial services industry, entertainment industry and food services industry. Mr. Evans has also handled several copyright lawsuits.

Mr. Evans' litigation clients include: Airtech International, Ameren Corporation, American Express Company, Barnes-Jewish Hospital, B-Line Systems, Buckeye International, Deutsche Financial Services Corporation, Edward Jones, Florida State University, MarChem Corp., Maritz Inc., MEMC Electronic Materials, MiTek, Code 3, Inc., Sigma-Aldrich, The University of Missouri and Western Litho Plate.

In addition, Mr. Evans has handled many other technology disputes that were resolved confidentially through settlement agreements without the occurrence of a filed lawsuit or public disclosure.

Mr. Evans routinely conducts patent studies and has issued numerous written legal opinions concerning the validity, infringement and enforceability of patents. Such work includes due diligence studies, guidance during the design and development of products and services, patent clearance of products and services, and responses to third party charges of infringement.

Mr. Evans received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, where he graduated in 1985, summa cum laude. While at Notre Dame, Mr. Evans was a member of Tau Beta Pi, the electrical engineering honor society. In 1988, he received his Juris Doctorate from Washington University, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif, and was Notes and Comments Editor of the Washington University Law Quarterly.

In addition to his dedication to Senniger Powers, Mr. Evans is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Intellectual Property Owners Association, the American Bar Association, the Missouri Bar Association, the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (Past-President of the Patent and Trademark Section), and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. He was also an adjunct professor at Washington University's School of Electrical Engineering from 1995 to 2001.
