Professional Summary

Mr. Agovino has practiced intellectual property law since 1973. He currently concentrates his practice on protecting technology related to cutting-edge electronics, communications, computers, software and business methods. He has considerable patent preparation and prosecution experience in motors, antennas, communications systems, software, solid state controls, incentive/loyalty systems, credit card systems and Internet systems and methods. Several patents prepared by Mr. Agovino have been licensed and enforced in litigation.

Before becoming an attorney for Senniger Powers, Mr. Agovino was Patent Counsel for Hazeltine Corporation where he managed Hazeltine's patent program relating to high technology electronics and computer controlled systems. He has also worked in government contracting matters and has tried patent infringement cases in both the Claims Court and the District Court. Mr. Agovino also has experience for clients involved in digital timing systems and consumer electronics.

As a captain in the U.S. Army, Mr. Agovino handled intellectual property matters at the Pentagon. His practice focused on electronics and computer systems in support of various government agencies.

Mr. Agovino received a Bachelor of Science degree in both Physics and Mathematics from Clarkson University in 1970. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Cincinnati in 1973.

Along with his commitment to Senniger Powers, Mr. Agovino was an affiliated professor in the School of Electrical Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis from 1991 to 2001. He is also a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (Patent and Computer Law Sections; Tech Practice Committee).
