Professional Summary

Dr. Millard's practice includes all areas of intellectual property law. Her work focuses primarily upon technologies in the biotechnology, biochemical, and pharmaceutical areas, and involves patent preparation and prosecution, invalidity and infringement opinions, and counseling related to patentability and freedom to operate.

She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Molecular Biology from Kenyon College in 1998, where she graduated summa cum laude and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society.

Dr. Millard received her Ph.D. in Molecular Cell Biology from Washington University in 2003. Her doctoral work focused on the intracellular trafficking of cholesterol, and she published several articles on that topic in the Journal of Biological Chemistry. She was also the recipient of a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship.

Dr. Millard graduated first in her class from Saint Louis University School of Law, where she was a Managing Editor of the Saint Louis University Law Journal. Her article on the effect of the eBay v. MercExchange Supreme Court decision on injunctive relief in patent infringement cases was voted Best Student Note or Comment by the editorial board of the Saint Louis University Law Journal, and was awarded the American Intellectual Property Law Association Past Presidents Award. While in law school, Dr. Millard received Academic Excellence Awards in Contracts I, Criminal Law, Torts, Legal Research and Writing I and II, Property, Civil Procedure II, Patent Law, Trademarks and Unfair Competition, Criminal Procedure I, Trusts & Estates, and International Law.

Dr. Millard is a member of the Missouri Bar Association and the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis.
