Professional Summary
Mr. Hejlek specializes in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, and in patent, trademark and trade secret licensing and consulting. He specializes in pharmaceuticals, life science technologies, and semiconductor, polymeric and composite materials. His broadly based practice includes litigation concerning patents, trademarks, and trade secret matters.
Mr. Hejlek has lectured in numerous intellectual property seminars sponsored by the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis and other organizations.
His extensive chemical and life sciences practice includes work for MEMC Electronic Materials, Inc., Monsanto Co., Pfizer Corporation, Symyx Technologies, Florida State University and Sigma-Aldrich Co.
Mr. Hejlek received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering in 1978 from Washington University, where he was a member of Delta Theta Phi. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1981. Mr. Hejlek also contributed to the Missouri Law Review.
Mr. Hejlek is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis. He is also an adjunct professor of patent law at the Saint Louis University School of Law.
